Running, called Rest

“Running, called Rest.”
“Rest” (休息) —
a sweet word, a moment we long for.
What does “rest” really mean for people today?
Is it sitting idly, or lying down?
Eating or drinking something enjoyable?
Or being pulled into the world inside a phone, spending time on short, stimulating videos?
I used to be like that.
No —
I still am, at times.
What’s fortunate is that I’ve found a sense of balance.
And what helped me find it was running in the morning.
Through it,
what I should do and what I shouldn’t naturally fall into place.
My time, our time, is precious.
And these days, the energy I gain from morning running paradoxically feels like “rest.”
That is why I’m grateful for today.
Now —
let’s take the final steps of this journey.
Let’s walk!
