Where We Look

“Where We Look”

While running, I often pass people for just a moment.

Some are walking with a stroller. Others are out with their dogs.

Some keep their eyes on the ones they’re with, while others rarely look up from their phones.

As I ran this morning, I found myself asking, “Where do I choose to place my attention?”

If I can, I’d rather meet someone’s eyes, notice what’s around me, and share a moment of understanding.

Maybe that’s what it truly means to spend time together.
